چکیده

The paper investigates the influence of the time-dependent external conditions on the stability criterion of the critical state in a hard superconductor with respect to flux jumps. It has been shown that the existence of a non-linear region in the current-voltage characteristic can result in a significant delay of the onset of the instability. The methods developed in this paper make it possible to define the dependence of the stability criterion on the rate of change of the external parameters (magnetic field, temperature etc). The theoretical results have been compared with the experimental data.

Plastic strain and flux jumps in hard and composite superconductors

A study is made into the effect of the critical current density dependence upon the value of plastic strain on the critical state stability in hard and composite superconductors under conditions of plastic yield of the material. There have been found criteria of the critical state stability relative to the jointly developing magnetic flux jumps and plastic strain jerks.

Time Dependent Analysis of Micro-tubes Conveying Nanofluids Under Time-Varying Heat Flux

In this paper the numerical analysis of flow and time dependent heat transfer of micro-tube conveying nanofluid in laminar flow is investigated. In this study, convection heat transfer of nanofluid and base fluid and transient analysis for time-varying heat flux for time step of 0.0001 second are elucidated. It is observed that the pumping power of nanofluid flowing and the maximum temperatur...

Flux jumps in hard superconductors in decreasing magnetic field

2014 The results of calculations of higher flux jumps positions in hard superconductors in decreasing magnetic field have been presented. It has been shown that flux jumps and corresponding stability limits are dependent on maximal magnetic field value in the cycle, which influences mainly first stability limit in decreasing field. Positions of other flux jumps have been determined for two simp...

Origin of magnetic flux-jumps in Nb films subject to mechanical vibrations and corresponding magnetic perturbations

In this paper the origin of flux-jumps in Nb thin films is established during magnetization measurements using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Magnetization measurements of the flux avalanche activity show its strong dependence on frequency and amplitude of VSM vibration. In particular, under certain conditions the vibrations induce a transition from a stable superconducting critical sta...

Dynamics of Ganymede’s magnetopause: Intermittent reconnection under steady external conditions

[1] Magnetic reconnection at the terrestrial magnetopause is frequently intermittent, leading to the formation of localized reconnected flux bundles referred to as flux transfer events (FTEs). It remains unclear whether the intermittency of the process is intrinsic or arises because of fluctuations of solar wind properties. Here we use Ganymede’s magnetosphere, which is embedded in a background...
